Accelerate Baltimore

Location: Baltimore, MD

Overview: ETC’s Accelerate Baltimore is in its fifth year. The goal when started was to attract startups and create business and impact for the city of Baltimore. ETC’s core business was basic startup incubation, but in 2012, we added co-working and the accelerator. The accelerator cohort operates for four months in a collaborative community of other successful startups and, along with seed stage funding, are offered four additional months (for free) in the ETC incubator program.

Overview: First, all the mentors involved in the program have started a business that has generated over $1M in revenue. We believe the guidance should come from those who have actually been where you are and got where you want to go. Second, participating companies are issued a $5K convertible note which acknowledges the program has value, but the note does not trigger into equity unless milestones are hit. If the program doesn’t help the company move forward, there is no trigger and no equity provided to The Harbor.

IGNITE Accelerator
