Tell us a little about yourself with a focus on what motivates you.

I am a single parent with four children who are energetic, focused, driven, and motivated by success and changing lives through the products and services we offer to the market. I am a visionary of note who can anticipate changes strategically with precision.

When did you establish your company and where did the idea originate?

In 2016, the idea originated while I was working as a business consultant. I followed an absence and need in the market.

What need or needs does your company seek to fill for its customers?

We are looking to expand and grow our business to meet the demands of the market. Our growth focus is machinery, equipment, inventory, and stock needed to meet the growing demands of the market. We also need resources to assist our farmers and enable them to supply us with quality raw materials and also sustain their lives through these processes.

What is the one thing that sets your company apart from its competitors?

What was the biggest challenge you faced while getting your company up and running, and how did you overcome it?

Our biggest challenge was the money for machinery and capital. Through fundraising projects, we were able to meet the market demands and supply our products at the right time, right quality and quantity. TryMos Foods focuses on low scale production to ensure that we serve our clients best. When the growth capital comes in, we can execute with precision and success.

What steps have you taken to secure funding for your company and what, if anything, would you do differently if you had to start over?

We have sent out proposals to known donors and have effectively followed up on them regarding the pending decisions.

Have there been any questions you have had as an entrepreneur of a fledgling startup that you had a particularly hard time finding the answers to?

Why is it difficult for small businesses to secure growth capital as they are the future businesses that will sustain the economy?

What challenges, if any, are you grappling with?

Securing of funding, capital to meet the expectation of our clients and the resources to train our farmers on effective farming methods.

Is there anything else you would like to share about your company?

TryMos Foods is driven to make a significant change in the retail industry by having a positive impact on our community members and employees. We always want to ensure sustainability in our communities. Our products are currently distributed in thirteen major stores around Polokwane.

Advice to female entrepreneurs…   

To never give up on any vision you come across. Passion, persistence, motivation, and focus is what drives success. Get up after a big fall and continue pushing the vision. It is never too late to start a venture. There is never a right time to start, so, start now!!
