Pittsburgh, aka the Steel City, is the is the second largest city in Pennsylvania and is an up and coming tech hub to watch in the U.S.

Known as America’s first boomtown, Rochester is home to a number of well-known businesses, including Kodak and Western Union. More recently, Rochester has become known as a place for new ventures and entrepreneurship.

US News & World Report ranked Georgia as the ninth-most active state for entrepreneurship, with Savannah becoming a top city for African-American owned businesses.

Baton Rouge may be Louisiana’s state capital, but it’s gaining notoriety as a diverse focal-point for entrepreneurship. The city has been recognized as a growing ecosystem for Women, Hispanic, and African-American entrepreneurs.

Charleston, SC consistently ranks as one of best cities in the world. Also deemed as one of the fastest growing cities since 2010, Charleston has become a hot spot for startups who’ve raised over $10 million in funding.

Kansas City is home to brands and companies including Hallmark Cards, Inc., Sprint and H&R Block. More recently, the area has seen a surge in entrepreneurship and startups like Rx Savings Solutions that has raised over $22 million in funding.

Jacksonville, FL, is home to several well-known businesses and companies including Fidelity National Financial and Firehouse Subs, Jacksonville has also become known as a great place for new ventures, especially technology startups.

Winston-Salem, NC is North Carolina’s fifth-largest city. The City of Arts & Innovation, as it is sometimes known, is also home to a number of successful businesses outside of the tobacco industry, including Krispy Kreme, Hanesbrands, and BB&T.
